Need to Meet?

At times, a parent or guardian may have questions or concerns regarding their child’s academic performance, behavior, extracurricular activities, or other school-related matters. The following steps outline the process for resolving these concerns effectively.

Lexington One District Guidelines for Questions or Concerns

Step One: Contact the Teacher

The parent/guardian should begin by reaching out directly to the specific teacher involved. This can be done via ParentSquare, by phone, or in person with an appointment.

Step Two: Contact the Assistant Principal

If the issue is not resolved after speaking with the teacher, the parent/guardian should contact the appropriate assistant principal to further discuss the concern, either by phone or in person. Appointments are required for in-person meetings.

Step Three: Contact the Principal

If the concern remains unresolved, the parent/guardian should reach out to the school principal to discuss the matter and seek resolution.

Step Four: Contact Central Services

Should the issue still persist, the parent/guardian may contact the Lexington One Central Services Office to speak with the executive director, director, or coordinator responsible for the area of concern.

Step Five: Contact the Chief Officer

If, after speaking with the Central Services representative, the concern remains unresolved, the parent/guardian may then contact the chief officer who oversees the relevant department.

CSMS Process for Scheduling Meetings with Teachers or Grade-Level Teams

ParentSquare, phone call, or in person with an appointment are the preferred methods of contact for our teachers and grade-level teams. The following steps will guide you through scheduling a meeting.

Step 1: Initiate Contact

Using ParentSquare, send a direct message to the appropriate teacher(s) or grade-level team. Briefly describe the reason for your request and suggest possible meeting times.

Step 2: Allow Response Time

Teachers will respond to your request within 24–48 hours, depending on their teaching schedule.

Important Reminders

  • ParentSquare is Primary. ParentSquare is the most efficient and documented method for communication.
  • Be Prepared. Come with specific questions or concerns to ensure a focused conversation.
  • Maintain a Student-Centered Focus. These meetings are intended to discuss your child’s academic and behavioral progress.
  • Timeliness Matters. Be punctual. If a conflict arises, notify the teacher or team via ParentSquare as soon as possible.

CSMS Process for Scheduling Meetings with an Administrator

We value our partnership with families and strive to make scheduling as convenient as possible. The following steps will guide you through scheduling a meeting with an administrator.

Step 1: Initial Contact

For most concerns, we encourage families to begin by meeting with their student’s grade-level assistant principal (AP) as APs are typically best positioned to address grade-specific issues. Contact Ms. Roman, our main office secretary, and let her know which AP you wish to meet with so she can help find a suitable time.

  • How to Reach Mrs. Roman: Call the main school office at 803-821-4900 and ask for Mrs. Roman. You may also meet with her in the main office during school hours. This does not guarantee an immediate in-person meeting with an administrator.
  • Scheduling Options: If availability allows, Mrs. Roman may be able to arrange same-day meetings. You may also request a future date that works best for you.

Step 2: Meeting with the Principal, If Needed

If further discussion is needed after meeting with an assistant principal, you may request a meeting with the principal. When requesting to meet with Dr. Green, let Mrs. Roman know you have already met with the grade-level assistant principal.

Important Reminders

  • Maintain Respectful Communication. Please approach all communication respectfully and collaboratively.
  • Be Prepared. Briefly explain your meeting topic when scheduling so administrators can prepare.
  • Timeliness Matters. Arriving on time ensures productive use of the meeting time.
  • Be Flexible. Administrator schedules may change. We appreciate your understanding if rescheduling is necessary.
  • Emergencies Happen. In case of an urgent matter, you may come to the school and request to speak with the first available administrator.

We appreciate your support and look forward to working in partnership to support your child’s educational journey!
